Details

In July 2017, the Government launched a survey to gather more information about the experiences of LGBT people in the UK. The survey response was unprecedented – over 108,000 people participated, making it the largest national survey of LGBT people in the world to date. We have published a detailed research report on the headline findings and a summary report. These focus on the experiences of LGBT people in the areas of safety, health, education and the workplace.

The Survey Data Viewer allows users to create their own tables using the survey data.

Though there were positive findings from the survey, and respondents were generally positive about the UK’s record on LGBT rights, there were some findings that are concerning. This is why we are publishing a comprehensive LGBT Action Plan that sets out what steps the government will take in response to the survey findings.
